Tax Collector receives Florida Tax Collector Association’s Excellence in Finance Operations Award.


 

The Hillsborough County Tax Collector's Office was awarded the 2011 Governor's Sterling Sustained Performance Excellence Award.

This prestigious recognition is granted to Florida organizations who are former recipients of the Governor's Sterling Award that are continuing to demonstrate outstanding processes and performance.


 

2008

Tax Collector receives the Florida Governor’s Sterling Award – the Top Honor for high- performing businesses in Florida.

The Governor's Sterling Award Program is the state-based equivalent of the National Malcolm Baldrige Program. The business model criteria for Sterling and Baldrige is the same, and both focus on achieving sustainability and performance excellence. Established in 1992 by Governor Lawton Chiles, the Florida Sterling Council has assisted organizations in utilizing proven standards of excellence as a guide to making improvements that generate better operations, customer value, and overall results and help make Florida a more competitive state.

The requirements of the Sterling/Baldrige criteria for Performance Excellence are embodied in 7 categories: Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer Focus, Measurement, Analysis and Knowledge Management, Workforce Focus, Operations Focus and Results.
