Vacancies for Classified Positions

The Tax Collector’s Office is often in search of dedicated customer service oriented employees for our branch offices located throughout the county. The Hillsborough County Civil Service Board conducts the recruiting and testing for these positions. Our position title is Customer Service Representative Trainee and the starting salary is $11.90 per hour.

If positions are available, you may apply online or in person at the Civil Service Office located at 601 East Kennedy Boulevard, 17th Floor in Tampa.

Some duties associated with the positions are:

• Processing applications for motor vehicle titles
• Renewing motor vehicle and driver licenses
• Collecting property taxes
• Issuing hunting and fishing licenses

The minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or GED and 6 months of clerical experience involving contact with the public, and a passing score on a data entry test at 75 gross keystrokes per minute with 90% accuracy.
