Driver License Services

Renewals and Changes on your driver license or ID card

Driver licenses are valid for six to eight years. Expiration dates may vary for license renewals issued to non-immigrants. A licensed driver is required to have car insurance. You may renew your license up to 18 months prior to expiration date.

A driver license renewal notice is mailed to address on file approximately six weeks prior to expiration date. However, failure to receive a renewal notice will not relieve you from renewing your driver license by expiration date or subsequent penalties which are imposed upon license expiration date.

Driver License may be renewed by mail, online or in person.  If your driver license is expired for more than twelve months, you must renew in person.

All customers must present proof of identification, proof of social security, and proof of residential address. Learn more.

Drivers 80 years of age or older who wish to renew their driver license are required to pass a vision test.

To change information on a driver license or ID card, you must apply for a replacement, also known as a duplicate. Fees will apply. In Florida, the law requires individuals to update address information on your driver license within ten days of moving.

Updating your information online or through the mail may take 7 to 10 business days. If you need an updated diver's license immediately, you will need to visit one one of our branch offices.

The fee to change your address by mail is $25. Additional fees apply for online services where credit cards are accepted. The fee to change your address in our office is $31.25.

There are three ways to request a replacement driver license with a new address:
